Hotel was prepared for my stay. I was offered the quiet room. The breakfast service was great, especially “meat balls”. Warm floor in the bathroom was also something to remember. Small fridge in the room was a nice, positive surprise. despite high price, I do hope to come back soon.
unfortunately, two lamps in the room did not work. moreover, the safe in the room would be an advantage.

What was the highlight of Original Sokos Hotel Lappee
Having learned from my experiences, I would come again to this convenient location.
The hotel is located at the center of a medium-sized shopping mall. There are several adjacent cafeterias and a bar, in case you do not like your breakfast coffee. There is a 2-level parking area for the car, which costs reasonable EUR 10 for 24h, so you can come in the evening, park, sleep, check out and go shopping till evening, and your parking is still valid. I've seen many local people check in at noon, apparently traveling to the airport. So my guess would be this is what Finnish people typically expect from the hotel. The room was very quiet (windows facing inner roofed area), no noise from the mall or outside. No bathrobes or slippers, but the toilet paper is superb and worth mentioning. Also they give you a kettle in the room, and there is a micro in the hall, so actually you can as for a plate and warm up your supper. Those large cacao bags near the kettle were pleasant, too. There is a Bitcoin ATM in the mall in the kids' store, and several chargers for the electric vehicles in the parking, some of them still idle when everything else was tightly packed.
Prior to arrival the room temperature was set to 15 degrees, which many people would love, but that was an unpleasant surprise for me, since I like the warmer temperatures. There is no heating in summer, and you can not switch the AC to warm the room up. I think next time I come I ask to the reception to switch the AC off. Since they were there to confirm my late arrival request, I'm sure they can handle this request with ease, too. Previously I have stayed with the major US hotel brand in Helsinki, and they have a multy-taste coffee capsule machine in the breakfast area. Here they have the regular kettle arrangement, and in turned out, that during my stay the coffee was of poor taste. Hence my impression of otherwise decent and manifold breakfast was sort of dented. Maybe this is the way the Finnish people love their coffee, and I'm just an outsider with my spoiled American ways. The parking is sort of crowded, you can find a space, but your car better be on the smaller side, because you have to maneuver between the supporting beams. I think this is usual for the Europeans, they have small cars and plastic railings on the doors to open them safely, unlike the US brands.

Perfect stay in Lappeenranta
Everything was so nice. The hot chocolate which was available in the room was so good. The room was spacious, well-designed, clean and perfect. The location is also easy to find. Also, the hotel is located in the mall, it is so nice to go shopping or to restaurants. The breakfast was extremely good. The staff were so kind and helpful.
Since it is located in the mall, just like the mall, some hallways to the rooms are so long. But there is a direct elevator to the shopping mall. If you are not going to the reception, you don't have to walk that hallway.
